Afro Latina

"On July 25, 1992, Afro-descendant women from 32 Latin American and Caribbean countries met in the Dominican Republic to make their struggles and resistances visible, and to define political advocacy strategies to confront racism from a gender perspective. As a result of this meeting, the International Day of Afro-Latin American, Afro-Caribbean and Diaspora Women  was instituted."
